Sustainable Design Discount:

Robison Engineering offers a blanket Sustainable Design Discount of 10% off of our standard hourly rates for Civil engineering design for commercial and residential construction which:

1) Complies with two or more LEED standards

2) Provides energy efficiency exceeding 35% "better then code" requirements for the relevant jurisdiction

3) Incorporates exceptional energy or water conservation design attributes or facilities (e.g. solar-heated hydronic space heating, photovoltaic electricity generation, Low-Impact Development site planning, etc.)

Net Carbon Negative:

Robison Engineering is an energy producer; through photovoltaic (5kW of installed Kyocera panels). Our office is extensively, and xerically, landscaped, we recycle everything the local waste manager will allow, and all organic waste from the office is returned to the soil through composting.

We never drive anywhere we don't have to, we use Rackspace.com's Cloud Drive so that each design professional works at home or in a coffee shop, and all of us would rather ride a bike to a meeting if the client will put up with it.

While we are too busy beeing engineers to prove it, we suspect that these activities MORE THAN OFFSET the carbon emissions we generate in electricity use and travel, company-wide. We are promoting "Net Carbon Negative" as the next standard for energy consciousness in the global economic community, and we are proud to be leading the way. Look out for a nice spreadsheet balancing energy savings in the near future!
