Robison Engineering Co., Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and independent Civil Engineering Designer to join our dynamic and diverse team. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative environment where individuals are empowered to lead and take ownership of our projects in the Surveying, Mining, Engineering, and Construction industries. Location: Reno/Sparks, Nevada
Responsibilities:
As a Civil Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing civil engineering designs and plans, and associated reports and analyses. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing detailed site, grading, and utility plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Designing and modeling basic to intermediate grading solutions for various project types.
- Creating and managing corridor designs for roadways and other linear infrastructure.
- Designing pipe networks for stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems.
- Producing accurate and comprehensive 2D site layouts and drawings.
- Utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar software to prepare reports, calculations, and other project-related documentation.
- Preparing technical reports including design criteria, methodologies, and findings.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, architects and other team members.
- Taking ownership of design tasks and managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant codes, regulations, and design standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil engineering design.
- Demonstrates proficiency in basic to intermediate grading design principles and practices.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical report writing for civil engineering projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop detailed site plans, grading plans, and utility plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Working towards or already obtained EIT Certification and/or PE License – starting pay will reflect certification/licensure status and experience
