Mining Engineering

Robison Engineering’s connections to the Mining industry originated with Wally, who was born and raised in Ely, Nevada and began his career staking claims in Idaho in 1968, and has now spent over 50 years involved with the mining business.

Since then, it has expanded into a small but capable part of our practice, with surveyors, environmental specialists, civil and structural engineers, and even a revegetation contracting license adding to our toolkit. We take pride in our ability to think innovatively and provide services with respect for mining’s history, regulatory requirements, and the natural world.

Our scope of services includes the following:

  • Claim staking, filing, maintaining, and amending

  • Photogrammetric, private, and public lands mapping

  • Mine development planning and feasibility studies

  • Exploration program design, block modeling, reserve, and resource evaluation
  • Mine infrastructure component design

  • Operational permitting
  • Reclamation plans, modification, and bond estimation and reduction
  • Water Rights applications, maps, and management

Mining Team

C.E.M. – 1512, Senior Professional
Marcie (CEM-1512) began her career as a miner with geology degrees from U. of Iowa and Texas-El Paso. Her understanding of the perspectives of both the extractive and environmental protection allows her to balance and respect their common goals.

Project Professional
Over 30 years of varied heavy industrial/mining experience in all facets of the business including operations, finance, maintenance, budgeting, resource estimation, planning, scheduling, and personnel. Registered Member – Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration. Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.

Professional Engineer, President
P.E. – 25822 | C.E.M. – 2459
Julianne is a Professional Environmental Engineer and Certified Environmental Manager. She loves getting into the field to solve our most interesting environmental problems. When she isn’t in the desert chasing down noxious weeds or water quality issues, she’s in the desert racing her motorcycle…when her bones heal back up from the last race.

P.E. – 16055 | W.R.S. – 1213, Principal Engineer, Treasurer
Nathan (NV PE-16055 and licensed all over the place, including Alberta, Canada) is also our Water Rights leader (WRS-1213). His motto is “never complain and never explain” and his ethic of fairness is draconian. He would prefer to be climbing a mountain alone right now.
