Robison Engineering Co., Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and independent Project Civil Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team. We pride ourselves in fostering a collaborative environment where individuals are empowered to lead and take ownership of projects in the Surveying, Mining, Engineering, and Construction industries. Location: Reno, Nevada

Responsibilities:

As a Project Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and developing civil design plans and associated calculations, reports, and analyses AND/OR organizing and managing our experienced civil designers to deliver said civil engineering products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing civil design projects from initial survey to construction.
  • Organizing and directing civil design teams to deliver projects on time and in budget.
  • Communicating budgetary limitations and out-of-scope work to clients and working out solutions.
  • Writing proposals.
  • Developing detailed plans for construction and permitting using AutoCAD Civil 3D, either on your own or by directing a design team.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar software to prepare reports, calculations, and other project-related documentation, either on your own or by directing a design team.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, architects, and other team members.
  • Building relationships with clients.
  • Providing or coordinating construction/field support when projects are constructed.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant codes, regulations, and design standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil engineering design.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic to complicated civil design principles and practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical report writing for civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop detailed site plans, grading plans, and utility plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • EIT Certification or PE License – starting pay will reflect certification/licensure status and experience.

Responsibilities:

As a Structural Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing structural designs and plans, and associated calculations, reports, and analyses. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed plans for construction and permitting using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Producing accurate and comprehensive 2D building layouts and drawings.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar software to prepare reports, calculations, and other project-related documentation.
  • Preparing technical reports including design criteria, methodologies, and findings.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, architects, and other team members.
  • Providing construction/field support to ensure safety, constructability, and structural integrity.
  • Taking ownership of design tasks and managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant codes, regulations, and design standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using AutoCAD or Revit for civil engineering design.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic to intermediate structural design principles and practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical report writing for civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop detailed site plans, grading plans, and utility plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Working towards or already obtained EIT Certification and/or PE License – starting pay will reflect certification/licensure status and experience.
