Robison Engineering specializes in providing reclamation plans for mining clients. Reclamation is the process of restoring land that has been disturbed by mining activities to its original state or an approved post-mining land use. It mitigates the environmental impact of mining operations and ensures that the land can be safely used for other purposes once mining has ceased.
Robison Engineering’s team conducts site assessments to determine the current state of the land and evaluate the potential impact of mining activities. Based on their assessment, they develop a customized reclamation plan that complies with regulatory requirements for bond release or decrease.
Services Offered by Robison Engineering
Robison Engineering offers a range of environmental engineering services to mining clients, with a particular focus on reclamation plans. Their team of experienced professionals is well-equipped to provide a variety of services to support the development and implementation of reclamation plans.
Site Assessments: Evaluating the extent of soil erosion, the presence of hazardous materials or waste, and the potential impact of mining activities on the environment.
Reclamation Plans: Developing customized reclamation plans that restore disturbed areas to their original state or an approved post-mining land use. The reclamation plan may include measures such as site grading, planting of native vegetation, and erosion control measures.
Post-Mining Land Use Planning: Providing post-mining land use planning to determine the best use of the reclaimed land. This includes evaluating the suitability of the land for various uses, such as wildlife habitat, recreation, or commercial development.
Bond Release or Decrease: Assisting mining clients in meeting their regulatory requirements for bond release or decrease.
Monitoring and Reporting: Providing monitoring and reporting services to ensure that the reclamation plan is executed correctly and that the site is fully restored. This includes regular site visits, progress reporting, and compliance monitoring.
Implementation of Reclamation Plans
Robison Engineering’s team is experienced in implementing reclamation plans to restore disturbed areas to their original state or an approved post-mining land use. They work closely with mining clients to ensure that the plan is executed correctly and that the site is fully restored.
The team ensures that site activities are executed in accordance with the reclamation plan, using the best available techniques and technologies to minimize environmental impact. They also ensure that the site is safe for workers and the surrounding community during the implementation phase.
Robison Engineering’s team provides regular site visits to monitor the progress of the reclamation plan and ensure that it is on track to meet the desired outcome. They work closely with the mining client to address any issues that may arise during the implementation phase.
Post-Mining Land Use Planning
Robison Engineering’s environmental engineering services include post-mining land use planning, which involves identifying and evaluating potential future land uses for the reclaimed site. The goal is to ensure that the reclaimed site is put to its highest and best use, consistent with local regulations and the needs of the surrounding community.
Once a post-mining land use plan has been developed and approved, Robison Engineering’s team works to ensure that the reclamation plan is executed in a manner that is consistent with that plan. This may involve additional site grading, the planting of specific types of vegetation, or the construction of infrastructure to support the desired land use.
Monitoring Reclamation Progress
Monitoring reclamation progress is a critical component of effective environmental engineering services, and Robison Engineering has a team of experienced professionals who specialize in this area. The purpose of monitoring is to ensure that the reclamation plan is being implemented correctly and that the site is fully restored.
The team conducts regular site visits, progress reporting, and compliance monitoring. Once the reclamation plan has been fully implemented, Robison Engineering’s team conducts a final assessment to ensure that the site has been fully restored to its original state or an approved post-mining land use.
Professional Engineer, President
P.E. – 25822 | C.E.M. – 2459 Julianne is a Professional Environmental Engineer and Certified Environmental Manager. She loves getting into the field to solve our most interesting environmental problems. When she isn’t in the desert chasing down noxious weeds or water quality issues, she’s in the desert racing her motorcycle…when her bones heal back up from the last race.
C.E.M. – 1512, Senior Professional Marcie (CEM-1512) began her career as a miner with geology degrees from U. of Iowa and Texas-El Paso. Her understanding of the perspectives of both the extractive and environmental protection allows her to balance and respect their common goals.
P.E. – 009674, Principal Engineer Wally Robison is the founder and now retired President of Robison Engineering Company. Wally started in the mining business in 1969, working for Gulf Resources in Montana. Going on to obtain a BS in Geological Engineering from University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1972. Wally is a PE of Mining and a Certified Environmental Manager. He takes pride in careful, reliable work and brings unique common sense to the environmental consulting practice. A fifth-generation Nevadan, Wally is proud to contribute to the health and prosperity of the western US.
Ph.D. Scientist Chris Ross continues his elegant and wide-arching career, now headquartering our branch “office” on the Gulf side of Baja in Mexico; he still mentors our Environmental staff and performs weed surveys and veg surveys for bond release.
